Guide to Boone Hall’s Pumpkin Patch

Everything you need to know about heading to Boone Hall's Annual Pumpkin Patch.

My husband (David), Aiden (our one year old), and myself spent two hours at Boone Hall Farms. There are a lot of attractions for older kids but plenty that Aiden was able to enjoy, too.

This is a very popular event, so anticipate lines - but it is so worth it.

Before You Go:

• Hours of operation & dates:

  • The Pumpkin Patch runs from September 29 through October 29.

  • They are open Friday and Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Sundays from 12pm-5pm.

• Tickets:

  • We purchased our tickets ahead of time in hopes that we could skip the line. You have to stand in the same general admission line, but you can go to a different table to check in. It might save some time but I didn't see the benefit.

  • Admission is $15 for ages 3 and up with children 2 and under free with adult admission.

• What to bring:

  • Strollers are allowed but could be potentially tough to push around. You also have to leave them unaccompanied while on the hay ride.

  • We chose to bring our Tushbaby carrier and compact diaper bag with included changing station to make things easier on us.

• What not to bring:

  • The farm does not allow any outside drinks or food and they do search bags upon entrance. We were able to bring in Aiden's milk.

Our Favorite Attractions:

• Hay Ride

  • This was by far the most fun attraction. They pick you up on a tractor drawn carriage and tote you around the farm. Each turn has a different theme which they have decorated from ground to the tree tops.

  • Aiden loves looking up into the trees so he was very animated and excited during the entire ride.

  • The staff is very efficient and gets everyone on and off of the ride quickly. The line goes by very quickly.

• Petting Zoo

  • Our second favorite part of the trip was the petting zoo. The animals were very friendly and sweet. Aiden was able to walk directly up to them and pet them. You are able to buy a cup of carrots to feed them for $5 but they will come up for pets without the carrots.

• Photo opportunities:

  • Every area is filled with fall decor giving you so many opportunities for family photos

• Corn Maze:

  • I think I have watched too many scary movies, so in my 31 years, I have never been through a corn maze. Thankfully this Corn maze did not contain any horror movie characters and we did not get lost in it!

  • Aiden grabbed a piece of corn and tried to eat it so we had to book it out of there quickly. He wasn't very happy that we wouldn't let him eat it.
