Everything you need to know about heading to Legare Farms Annual Pumpkin Patch.

Legare Farms | Johns Island, SC

We took Aiden, our one year old, to Legare Farms Pumpkin Patch. There are a lot of attractions for younger kids, so Aiden loved every minute of it.

This is a family fun event, so it's very laid back.

Before You Go:

  • Hours of operation & dates:

    • The Pumpkin Patch runs from on the Weekends in October. Opening 9/30/23 closing 10/29/23.

    • They are open Fridays 3-6pm, Saturdays 10-6, and Sundays 12-6.

  • Admission and fees:

    • There is a $5 fee per car, but if you click the link below, you can earn a free parking pass.

  • There are some free activities, but bring your cash with you!

    • Hayride $4 for everyone 2 years and older

    • Horse Rides $5

    • Scarecrow Factory $12

    • Corn Cannon $1

    • Tip: Go as soon as they open so you miss the rush of people.

  • What to bring:

    • Strollers are allowed but could be potentially tough to push around. You also have to leave them unaccompanied while on the hay ride.

    • We chose to bring our Tushbaby carrier and compact diaper bag with included changing station to make things easier on us.

  • What not to bring:

    • The farm does not allow any outside drinks or food and they do search bags upon entrance. We were able to bring in Aiden's milk.

Our Favorite Attractions:

  • Hay Ride

    • This was by far the most fun attraction. They pick you up on a tractor drawn carriage and tote you around the farm.

    • There was a nice breeze when we got on and unlike some other farms, we actually sat in hay on the ride!

    • They take you to a cow pasture, give you food to feed the cows, and you get to play and feed the cows. If you're lucky, a pig may sneak out for some food, too!

    • If you're an animal lover like me, this is worth it.

    • TIP: As soon as you arrive, put your name down on the list for the hay ride. You do not have to stand around in line - once they write your name down, you can go enjoy other activities until it's your turn.

  • Pumpkin Patch

    • Our second favorite part of the trip was the pumpkin patch. Aiden was able to crawl around the pumpkin patch.

    • There were a variety of pumpkins, not just orange pumpkins, to pick from. We were able to select very unique colors, designs, and sizes.

  • Tractor and play area:

    • There was a tractor for the kids to play on within the play area. Aiden loved crawling around the tractor, turning the wheel, and switching gears.

Other Attractions:

  • Farm Animals Barnyard

  • Corn Canyon

  • Gem Mine

  • Scarecrow Factory

  • Horse Rides

  • Food Concessions
